Kali Linux 2024.4 is the December 2024 Installer release for security professionals, penetration testers, digital forensics practitioners, and advanced Linux users. This 64-bit ISO is designed for compatible amd64 PCs and supports a full installation with Kali’s extensive security testing toolkit.

Kali Linux 2024.4 introduces Python 3.12 as the default interpreter and encourages isolated Python application installation through pipx. The release ends production of i386 kernels and installation images while retaining many i386 packages for use on 64-bit systems. OpenSSH 9.8p1 deprecates DSA keys, with the legacy ssh1 client included for older SSH environments. Raspberry Pi images gain Raspberry Pi Imager customization support, while GNOME 47 adds accent-color synchronization and desktop refinements. The release also updates the kernel to the 6.11 series, adds 14 new tools, and delivers substantial Kali NetHunter, ARM, documentation, and community platform improvements.
