Latest Version
Arch Linux 2026.08.01 is the latest official Minimal installation image, released in August 2026. It targets experienced Linux users, developers, system administrators, and learners who want to build a customized system from a lightweight base. This release supports 64-bit x86_64 computers and is intended for new installations.
The image includes Linux kernel 7.1.5 and is approximately 1.5 GB in size. It can be written directly to a USB flash drive, burned to optical media, or mounted as an ISO in a virtual machine. Users can obtain the image through HTTP or HTTPS mirrors and BitTorrent, with torrent distribution recommended when users can continue seeding. The release also provides netboot support for compatible wired networks, updated checksum files, and PGP signatures for download verification. Existing Arch Linux systems do not need this ISO because they can receive rolling updates with pacman -Syu. New users should consult the Arch Linux download catalog and the Arch Linux installation guide before proceeding.
Arch Linux follows a rolling-release model and has no fixed support end date. It is not an LTS release; current packages are delivered through continuous updates.
See the official Arch Linux release and download notes for mirrors, checksums, signatures, and installation resources.
