Android

Android is a Linux kernel based open source operating system designed primarily for mobile phones. It is currently developed and maintained by Google, and the source code is available on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) website. Like Linux Distro, Android can be customized in any way. Many phone manufacturers use their own style of Android for the devices they create, while many will shipped their device with the pure 'stock' version of Android. The operating system supports many different types of hardware on Android devices, such as video cameras, GPS, sensors etc., and all these hardware support allows other companies to develop a more secure and better application for the Android platform.
